A strong linkage exists between knowledge management and how MILE conducts its business. The eThekwini Municipality is realizing that service delivery is as important as imparting knowledge and positioning itself as a learning organisation.
The role of knowledge is increasingly becoming critical for the effectiveness and success of the municipality. Positioning the municipality as a knowledge sharing organisation will enable partnerships with its customers, stakeholders and other external role-players. In pursuance of this thinking, the municipality has developed a KM strategy to guide it through until 2013, upon which it will be reviewed.
